Baker Students Compete at Academic Olympics

Members of the Baker Academic Olympics teams headed to compete on March 8th and 9th. They attended competitions against other schools in the area and this event was held at Miles Community College. In total, there were 12 schools, 21 teams, and 120 students in attendance. 

For written results, the Junior High A team took 6th place and the Junior High B team took 12th place. For the oral competition, the Junior High A team took 3rd. Individual results were as follows; Michael Hanson took 6th place, Kaydree Anderson took 10th place, Karlee Dyke took 10th place, and Tylar Smith took 12th place. 

The High School written competition included 43 freshmen, 30+ sophomores, and 30+ seniors. For the written competition, Tuff Ranum took 5th place, Chloe Thurlow took 4th place, and Conrad Hess took 1st place. For seniors, Caleb Rost received 5th place and Gabe Kennel took the 1st place title. Gabe Kennel also received a $250 Scholarship from Southeast Montana Association of School Superintendents. There were 21 teams competing at the high school level. The Baker Team A took 6th place and team B took 4th place in the oral competitions. Congrats to all of these hardworking scholars on their accomplishments from this event!
