After our School Board meeting today (3.19.2020), the Baker Board of Trustees authorized Administration to provide an educational delivery system for students that may include, but is not limited to, offsite instruction.

Beginning Monday, March 23rd, Baker Public Schools will transition to online/at-home instruction for all of our students. Staff has organized online platforms and/or student work packets for students/parents to access content. Some of our delivery will be paper-based and will require students and/or parents to pick up student work packets with detailed instructions on how to complete specific course work.

7-12 students will be able to access their lockers Monday, March 23rd from 8:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m. Staff will contact 7-12 students who need to pick up a student work packet, packets will be available for those identified students in the high school office on Monday, March 23rd from 8:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m. Packets/paper-based work will need to be dropped off at the high school office on Wednesday, March 25th and Friday, March 27th between 8:30 a.m.—3:30 p.m. 7-12 parents/students please pay close attention to due date requirements within your student work packet and/or online platform.

K-6 students will need to pick up packets at their respective schools on Monday, March 23rd from 8:00 a.m.—12:30 p.m. Longfellow (3-6 students) will pick up packets in the concessions lobby at Longfellow gymnasium (PLEASE use the outside gymnasium door access). Lincoln (K-2 students) will pick up packets in the Lincoln gymnasium (PLEASE use the door open to the gym from the Lincoln playground south entrance backside of school). Parents and students will not be allowed to access either building (Longfellow or Lincoln) beyond the Longfellow concessions area and the Lincoln gymnasium (through playground entrance). The first packet pick-up will be Monday, March 23rd. We ask that packets be dropped off in the same location on Friday, March 27th between 8:00 a.m.—12:30 p.m. If, by then, we have reason to believe the closure will extend beyond Friday, March 27th, we will have packets available for pick up when parents are dropping off their first packet.

Chromebooks are available for check-out (for those students who expressed a need for a device) from Mr. Scott Anderson on Friday, March 20th and Monday, March 23rd from 8:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m. (both days) in the Longfellow gymnasium concessions area (PLEASE use the outside gymnasium door access). Parents/guardians must sign a checkout form with Mr. Anderson in order to receive a Chromebook.

Parents and students, please understand that teachers will NOT be made available for face-to-face interaction during any pick-up/drop-off times. Limited support staff will be available to answer any generic questions. We ask that you please call the school with questions rather than visit the school with questions. We are requesting that only one (1) adult enter the building per family to pick up packets, Chromebook, etc. (7-12 students may enter the school to pick up supplies from their locker). We request that children and additional family members not enter the building during packet pick-up/drop-off. We request that 7-12 students keep away from each other when/if in the halls and only access their own locker. Once students have their supplies, they need to leave the building; they are only allowed to access their locker and not allowed access to classrooms/areas within the building.

Our teaching staff will be available via e-mail and/or instructions contained within student work packets and/or via the teacher’s online platform: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.—3:30 p.m. If you or your child are having trouble contacting your child’s teacher, please call the school.

We respectfully request that parents/students who are coming on campus for pick-up/drop-off follow the CDC guidance to keep a safe distance of 6 ft. between yourself and others.

We want to remind all student athletes and parents that athletes are still on training rules during all breaks including this two (2) week closure.

If a parent/student is unable to come to the school for supplies, student work packets, Chromebook, etc. please call the school at 778.3329 and we will assist you in making arrangements to receive materials.

We thank you for your continued support and request that you please continue to be patient with us as we navigate the changes in our educational delivery.
